Built to charge large batteries quickly, this lithium / LFP / LiFePO4 charger will charge any lithium battery at a rate of 45 amps. Lion Energy has optimized this charger for use with our lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4 or LFP). Not recommended for charging lead acid or SLA batteries, it is too powerful. This charger is rated at 45 amps and will charge a Lion Energy UT 1300 105 Ah battery in 2.4 hours or our UT700 56 Ah in 1.3 hours. All 12 volt Lion Energy lithium batteries should be charged using a LiFePO4 compatible charger like this one. SLA chargers will reduce the performance and lifespan of the battery.

Use a LiFePO4 Compatible Charger: It is highly recommended to use a LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) compatible charger for your 12-volt lithium batteries. While 12-volt chargers for lead acid batteries may work, they can decrease the performance and lifespan of the lithium battery.

Terminal Connections: To connect your charger to the battery, use cable connections with ring terminals. Install the ring terminals using the bolts on your battery terminals. Connect the black terminal to the black terminal of the battery and the red terminal to the red terminal. Ensure that there are no short circuits.

Smart BMS Communication: If a Lion Energy BMS (Battery Management System) has turned off the battery due to a short circuit or excessive amp draw, the charger can restart or "wake up" the BMS. Simply connect the charger to the battery to initiate a restart.

Battery Charge Speed: The charger operates at a rate of 45 amps. To determine the charging time, divide the amp-hour (Ah) rating of your battery by 45. For example, a 105 Ah battery would charge in approximately 2.3 hours.

LiFePO4 Batteries Charge Voltage: It is recommended to charge Lion Energy Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries at 14.6 volts. This charger charges at the recommended voltage of 14.6 volts.
